BYD’s new Denza N8 EV to launch on November 12: up to 1,193 hp and 1,003 km range
BYD‘s Denza has officially announced that its latest pure electric SUV, the refreshed N8 EV, is scheduled for market launch on November 12. Pre-orders for the vehicle opened on October 26.
Design and dimensionsThe N8 EV continues the brand’s design language, featuring split headlights composed of dual-strip LED daytime running lights and vertical high/low beam units. The front bumper incorporates active air vents, and the vehicle includes a front trunk (frunk). Customers can choose from four exterior colours – Celestial Cyan, Night Black, Streamer Silver, and Cloud Grey – as well as four two-tone options: Deep Space Blue, Aurora Green, Daylight Orange, and Twilight Grey.
The vehicle measures 5,150 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm. It features a concave semi-hidden door handle design and offers 20-inch or 21-inch wheel options. The rear is highlighted by a roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted brake light, a hidden rear wiper, and full-width dual-strip taillights. The trunk offers a standard capacity of 1,046 litres, supplemented by hidden storage compartments.
Interior and technologyInside, the cabin is defined by a 30-inch panoramic screen and a 1.1-meter-wide integrated “Sky Screen.” The interior is finished with premium leather and wood grain accents, available in four colour schemes: Moonlit Mountain (light beige/dark blue), Morning Mist Beige, Dawn Red, and Evening Brown.
The vehicle features four “zero-gravity” seats – two in the front and two in the rear. The front seats offer a maximum recline of 165°, while the rear seats recline up to 146° and feature 13 cm of longitudinal adjustment. All seats include ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Additional amenities include dual 50W wireless charging pads, ambient lighting, a Devialet sound system, rear entertainment screens, an onboard refrigerator, and the “God’s Eye 5.0” driver-assistance system.
Performance and batteryThe N8 EV will be available in rear-wheel-drive (single motor) and all-wheel-drive (tri-motor) configurations. The single-motor version offers two power outputs: 320 kW (429 hp) and 370 kW (496 hp). The tri-motor version utilises a front-one, rear-two motor layout, with the front motor producing 270 kW (362 hp) and each rear motor producing 310 kW (416 hp), resulting in a combined system output of 890 kW (1,193 hp). This configuration enables features such as “compass turn” (tank turn) and intelligent crawling modes.
Equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology, the N8 EV offers multiple range options, with the top-tier 130.15 kWh battery providing a CLTC range of 1,003 km (~812 km WLTP). Other battery configurations allow for ranges of 970 km, 840 km, and 800 km. The vehicle also features the DiSus-A intelligent air suspension system and rear-wheel steering for enhanced handling. A plug-in hybrid version is expected to join the lineup in the future.
