BYD’s Yangwang Altior luxury sedan’s face exposed ahead of release in the UAE

BYD’s Yangwang Altior luxury sedan’s face exposed ahead of release in the UAE

The front end of BYD’s Yangwang Altior luxury sedan was exposed ahead of the official release in the UAE. This Rolls-Royce rival adopts the design language first introduced by the U8 swimming off-roader with four electric motors.

The Yangwang Altior was previously known by the HU codename. It is the BYD’s ultimate flagship that is aimed to rival some high-end saloons like the Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class, the Rolls-Royce Ghost, and the Maextro S800. The domestic name of this car is Dingyao. It was previously spotted in the wild several times, wearing camouflage.

On October 30, BYD Fan Club shared the first photo of the Yangwang Altior without any camouflage on WeChat. A blurry shot shows the sedan’s front end with a massive blackened radiator grille, a rectangular active air intake, headlamps integrated into the front bumper, and running light units inspired by ding, which is an ancient Chinese pot with two legs and two rim handles.

The car in the photo is finished in bronze color with a blackened bonnet. There is a LiDAR sensor on the roof, which is a part of the BYD’s God’s Eye assisted driving system. It was previously shared that the Altior has an approximate body length of 5,500 mm and a wheelbase of 3,350 mm. For clarity, it is around 100 mm longer than the standard Rolls-Royce Ghost. It is expected to be equipped with hydraulic suspension and four electric motors.

The Yangwang Altior will make an official debut in the UAE around November 5. No official information is available at the moment. According to China EV DataTracker, Yangwang handed over 3,251 vehicles to owners from January to September 2026, up 38.9% Year-Over-Year. The most expensive Yangwang-branded model is the U9 Xtreme hypercar, which was priced at approximately 20 million yuan (3 million USD). It is worth noting that the U9 Xtreme will make an attempt to reach the maximum speed of over 500 km/h in the UAE in November.
