Chery’s Audi-look Arrizo 7 sedan enters production with 1,700 km hybrid range
Chery’s Arrizo S concept has evolved into the production Arrizo 7, a sedan offered with 1.5T petrol and 1.5L C-DM plug-in hybrid powertrains. China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) disclosed both versions in its 412th batch of vehicle filings, revealing their production specifications, dimensions and curb weights.
The model was discontinued in 2018 and sits between the Arrizo 5 and Arrizo 8 in Chery’s sedan lineup. Its Chinese launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Production model drops concept’s 2.0T engine
Chery introduced the Arrizo S at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show in April, featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine rated at 192 kW (257 hp) and 400 Nm of torque. The production version, subsequently presented at the Chengdu Motor Show in August, replaces that engine with two smaller-displacement options.
The petrol variant uses Chery’s SQRG4T15 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 115 kW (156 hp) gross and 105 kW (141 hp) net, with 235 Nm of torque. It pairs the engine with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and MIIT lists fuel consumption at 6.20 L/100 km.
The C-DM combines an SQRH4G15 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with an electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission. The engine delivers 82 kW gross and 71 kW (95 hp) net. Chery claims fuel consumption of 0.65 L/100 km and a CLTC combined range exceeding 1,700 km, equivalent to approximately 1,400 km under WLTP. MIIT lists fuel consumption at 0.69 L/100 km.
The plug-in hybrid uses a 19.527 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, with a reported electric-only range of 116 km. Anhui Deye Energy Technology supplies the battery cells, while Chery subsidiary Wuhu Qida Power Battery System handles pack assembly. Both variants have a listed maximum speed of 180 km/h.
Dimensions and equipment
The Arrizo 7 measures 4,739 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,590 mm across both front and rear tracks, with a 2,770 mm wheelbase.
The petrol version stands 1,491 mm tall and weighs 1,350 kg. The hybrid measures 1,498 mm in height and weighs 1,598 kg, making it 7 mm taller and 248 kg heavier.
MIIT identifies Bosch’s 207ESC system on the petrol version, while the C-DM lists a 207EBS system supplied by Shanghai LiKe.
The exterior retains the concept’s large hexagonal grille and angular headlights, alongside a fastback-inspired roofline and integrated rear spoiler. Interior images show a central infotainment touchscreen, a separate digital instrument display, a steering-column-mounted gear selector, and physical centre-console controls.
Global-market plans
Chery presented the sedan at the Chengdu Motor Show as a global-market model, stating that its development considered requirements across more than 70 countries. The company has yet to disclose export-market launch schedules, final equipment specifications or domestic pricing.
