Geely launches 2027 Emgrand with 12.8-inch screen and 540° camera, starts at 8,400 USD
Geely Auto launched the 2027 Emgrand “Upward Series” in China, with promotional prices starting at 59,900 yuan (approximately 8,410 USD) through November 30, 2026. The three-variant lineup has official guide prices of 68,900 to 82,900 yuan (approximately 9,680–11,640 USD). A 9,000-yuan discount applies across the range during the promotional period.

Revised styling and infotainment
Exterior changes focus on the front and rear bumpers. The grille features simplified vertical waterfall slats with wider spacing, while the redesigned lower front apron incorporates black trim. At the rear, a chrome accent strip spans the lower bumper beneath the existing full-width taillight assembly.
Available exterior colours include Alpine Gold, Chaka Salt Lake White and Pamir Grey.
Inside, the main update is a 12.8-inch floating central touchscreen running Geely’s Flyme Auto system. Supported connectivity options include Huawei HiCar, Carlink and Flyme Link. The central air vents and physical controls sit lower on the dashboard, while the centre console incorporates a wireless smartphone charging pad and repositioned cupholders. The cabin features a two-tone black-and-brown colour scheme.
Carryover petrol powertrain
The Emgrand retains its naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 88 kW (120 hp) and 150 N·m of torque. Buyers can choose between a five-speed manual gearbox and a CVT that simulates eight forward gear ratios.
The sedan continues to use Geely’s BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) platform, which underpins the fourth-generation Emgrand introduced in 2021. It also carries over its 1,820 mm width, MacPherson strut front suspension, and torsion-beam rear suspension.
Market Context: Petrol and Hybrid Emgrand Models
The Emgrand nameplate has recorded more than 3.8 million sales across four generations since its introduction in 2009. Its latest petrol version competes in China’s budget-car market against low-priced electric models such as the BYD Seagull and discounted petrol sedans such as the Nissan Sylphy Classic.
Geely launched the larger Emgrand i-HEV hybrid sedan in June, with a launch price of 13,010 USD and stated fuel consumption of 3.83 L/100 km. The updated petrol Emgrand starts at 59,900 yuan (approximately 8,410 USD under the promotional offer) and retains its naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine. The price gap separates the two versions: the conventional petrol model is the lower-cost option, while the hybrid offers a different powertrain at a higher entry price.
