Smart #2 makes global debut at Paris Motor Show, Couture Edition launches in China
Smart officially unveiled the all-new Smart #2 at the Paris Motor Show today, marking the global debut of the brand’s latest compact electric vehicle. The model revives the classic two-door, two-seater spirit of the original Smart Fortwo. Alongside the global reveal, Smart announced a European pre-order price of 19,990 EUR (22,400 USD) and launched the exclusive “Couture Edition” in China.
Limited Edition Launch in China
The Smart #2 Couture Edition is now available for order in the Chinese market, priced at 112,999 yuan (16,900 USD). Limited to 999 units, the company confirmed that customers who place orders immediately can expect delivery within the year. Pricing for other variants in the Chinese market is scheduled to be announced in November.
Design and dimensions
The Smart #2 features a compact two-door, two-seater layout. The exterior design incorporates modern elements, including LED daytime running lights, projector headlamps, and a distinctive capsule-patterned grille. The Couture Edition distinguishes itself with a “Matte Cloud White” and “Corona Gold” two-tone paint scheme, complemented by gold-accented grille patterns and badging.
The vehicle rides on 16-inch gold-finished “Sky Dome” wheels, utilising a staggered tyre setup (185/50 R16 front / 205/45 R16 rear).

Performance and range
The Smart #2 is powered by a rear-mounted single motor producing 60 kW (80 hp). It is equipped with a 35.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) CATL battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated range of 410 km (332 km WLTP). The vehicle features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a five-link independent rear suspension, offering a tight minimum turning radius of 3.35 meters.
