April’s Best EV Deals: Beat High Gas Prices With These Five Electric Cars

A truck makes our list of the very best EV deals on cars you might actually want to own.

With gas prices jumping an entire dollar in just one month, some buyers are adding electric cars back onto their shopping lists.

A good deal on an EV is one thing, but we hope consumers who are taking the electric-car plunge will try another one down the road. EVs are often quiet, surprisingly quick, and far more convenient than gas cars if you have home charging. Which of the EVs below would you own?

A quick note on these deals: They're correct as of publishing, but availability may vary near you. Check back next month for more EV deals.

2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV Deal: Up to $10,000 Off

What makes the 2026 Equinox EV’s ongoing deals impressive is that it’s an electric SUV priced under $45,000 to start. The Equinox EV has received mixed reviews in our testing, but the electric compact SUV certainly ranks higher in our esteem than the 2027 Bolt EV. Because if there’s one thing we know about the best EV deals, it’s that it should be about more than just the price. You’re going to spend a ton of time in this car.

With the Equinox EV, you’ll be spending that time in a spacious cabin, wrapped inside a good-looking SUV that has at least 300 miles of range on every trim.

Worth noting, this deal varies based on the trim. The 2026 Equinox EV RS—the most attractive trim, but the one with the worst ride—gets up to $10,000 if you own a 2012 or newer non-GM car or lease a 2021 or newer non-GM car. For a commuter, our pick would be an Equinox EV LT2 for its standard 360 camera and power liftgate.

2026 Equinox EV deal: Up to $10,000 off.

2025 Kia EV6 Deal: $5,000 Off Plus 0 Percent for 72 Months

Kia still has some inventory of its 2025 Kia EV6 left to offload, so anyone looking to escape high gas prices in style might want to test-drive this wagonlike SUV. The EV6 remains one of the most entertaining SUVs in its class and was a worthy second-place finisher in a seven-EV comparison test.

Select trims still get $5,000 off plus 0 percent financing for 72 months. The straight-cash offer isn’t as good as last month, but $5,000 is still $5,000 off, and 0 percent makes it all the better.

2025 EV6 deal: $5,000 off plus 0 percent for 72 months on select trims.

2026 Kia EV9 Deal: $5,000 Off Plus 0 Percent for 60 Months

One of the best electric three-row mainstream SUVs is also one of the only three-row EVs around. With Volkswagen pausing production of its electric Volkswagen ID Buzz for the U.S., that leaves the EV9 and the Hyundai Ioniq 9 as the only models in the segment. The market will soon expand to welcome the electric Toyota Highlander and Subaru Getaway, but for now, it’s pretty much the Koreans unless you have the means to move up to a luxury three-row EV.

It’s a good thing that the EV9 and Ioniq 9 are both excellent. The Kia has a more conventional design on the outside, and it features futuristic highlights including a premium interior.

2026 EV9 deal: $5,000 off plus 0 percent for 60 months.

2026 Lucid Air Deal: $4,500–$7,000 Off, Plus 0.99 Percent for 60 Months

The right type of buyer should be very happy with the 2026 Lucid Air. Even among sedans, the Air isn’t easy to enter or exit, nor does the brand have a good reputation so far for reliability.

But wait! Those willing to overlook its flaws will find the Air to be exceptional, both in the way it surrounds the driver with luxury and the way it drives. Oh, and the range can stretch to more than 500 miles in select models.

On the Air Pure and Touring, this deal makes the Lucid a great alternative to more conventional midsize luxury sedans for buyers seeking a break from high gas prices. The Air Grand Touring, which starts at above $100,000, is a more special choice. We drove a version of the Air Grand Touring for a year, and it was a real experience.

2026 Air deal: $4,500 off plus 0 percent for 60 months for Pure and Touring trims; $7,000 off plus 0 percent for 60 months for Grand Touring.

2026 Rivian R1S and R1T Deal: As Low As 0.99 Percent for 60 Months

Rivian makes some of the most luxurious, quickest, and most capable vehicles in the EV space, so it’s a pleasant surprise to see the R1S three-row electric luxury SUV and R1T truck on this list of the best EV deals for April. Like the Lucid Air, the Rivians are so good that you might pick them even if you weren’t specifically seeking out EVs.

Qualified buyers will get 0.99 percent financing for 60 months on the more expensive trims, including the dual-motor model with the performance upgrade, tri-motor, and quad-motor models.

There’s no such thing as a slow Rivian R1S or R1T, but the slower models—base dual motor and dual motor without the performance upgrade—offer 1.99 percent for 60 months.

2026 R1S and R1T deal: As low as 0.99 percent for 60 months on select trims.
