BYD unveils second-gen Seal 07 interior with 20-speaker Devialet audio
BYD has released the first official interior images of the second-generation Seal 07, revealing a redesigned cabin dubbed the “Ocean Rhythm” cockpit. The reveal follows leaked prototype photos published on October 22. The redesign arrives as domestic deliveries of the outgoing model fell 37.3% month-on-month in September to 624 units.
New cabin replaces crystal gear selector
The images show an electronic steering-column stalk replacing the outgoing model’s circular crystal gear selector. The change frees space on the floating centre console for two angled wireless smartphone charging pads, physical metallic toggle controls, and dual cupholders. The driver faces a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and digital instrument cluster, while a dashboard recess accommodates a head-up display.
The cabin also features a 20-speaker Devialet sound system with laser-etched metallic door grilles. The front seats offer heating, ventilation, and pneumatic massage. Extended seat cushions and contoured rear backrests match the sedan’s 2,960 mm wheelbase.
Larger dimensions and updated powertrains
The interior reveal adds to exterior details previously shared by Zhang Zhuo, head of BYD’s Ocean sales division, and specifications listed in Chinese regulatory filings; the second-generation Seal 07 measures 5,080 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,495 mm tall. Compared with the outgoing Seal 07 EV, it gains 85 mm in length, 50 mm in width, and 60 mm in wheelbase. Exterior features include wave-shaped split headlights and semi-hidden door handles. The EV configuration lists a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor; regulatory reporting indicates the DM-i variant does not have this equipment.
Regulatory specifications list two battery-electric configurations and a plug-in hybrid variant:
-
Seal 07 EV: The 245 kW (329 hp) rear motor is paired with a 76.744 kWh LFP battery, providing up to 775 km of CLTC range (636 km WLTP). The higher-output 300 kW (402 hp) motor uses an 88.682 kWh FinDreams LFP battery and offers up to 875 km of CLTC range (718 km WLTP). Both versions have a listed top speed of 240 km/h.
-
Seal 07 DM-i: A 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 115 kW works with a 160 kW electric motor and a 38.029 kWh LFP battery. The plug-in hybrid has a listed pure-electric range of 245 km under WLTC and a top speed of 190 km/h.
