Changan-CATL’s Avatr unveils flagship T09 concept at 2026 Paris Motor Show

On October 11, Avatr officially unveiled its T09 concept vehicle at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. As the inaugural model of the brand’s new flagship series, the T09 is built upon a brand-new design language and integrates technologies from Changan, Huawei, and CATL. The vehicle is positioned to compete in the 500,000 yuan (74,600 USD) luxury SUV segment and is scheduled for an official market launch in 2026.

The T09 concept will be showcased alongside the Avatr 06T and 07L at the Paris Motor Show, which runs from October 12 to 18.

Chen Zhuo, Chairman of Avatr Technology, stated: “With the introduction of the T09, Avatr will now feature two distinct product series: the ‘Digital’ series, characterised by effortless luxury, elegance, and sporty avant-garde design; and the ‘Flagship’ series, defined by respectful luxury, prestige, and a commanding presence. Two design series, one Avatr, and the same commitment to originality and taste.”

Nader Faghihzadeh, Executive Vice President and Chief Designer of Avatr, added: “The Avatr Vision Xpectra interprets the freedom in our vision. The T09 concept translates this philosophy into a calm, confident, and respectful aura, expanding our ‘effortless luxury’ into the broader realm of ‘respectful luxury’.”

Design and technology

The T09 concept features the new Vision Xpectra design language. The front fascia is highlighted by a grille featuring 362 distinct Avatr logo elements of varying heights. The vehicle is equipped with crystal-array lighting units utilising dual-layer diamond-cutting technology and a massive 2.1-square-meter clamshell hood.

Inside, the cabin introduces the “Vortex” emotional interaction system-a 360-degree seamless, two-stage curved, retractable design embedded with 118 RGB LED matrix lights. The cockpit is anchored by an immersive triple-screen setup, featuring a 10.25-inch instrument cluster flanked by dual 17.2-inch displays for the centre console and front passenger.

Performance

The T09 is described as the brand’s most technologically dense production model to date. It integrates Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving system and the new Taihang intelligent control technology.

• Powertrain: Intelligent super-hybrid system featuring a 2.0T engine and a triple-motor distributed electric drive.

• Power Output: Total system power exceeds 1,000 hp.

• Battery: Equipped with a 71.24 kWh CATL Freevoy super extended-range/hybrid battery.

• Range: Offers a CLTC pure electric range of over 400 km (w value=400).

Global expansion

Avatr has expanded its international footprint to 70 countries and regions, with products achieving an average selling price exceeding 300,000 yuan (44,800 USD). The brand has already achieved profitability in overseas markets, holding a 10% market share in Egypt’s high-end electric vehicle segment and ranking first in Thailand’s luxury pure electric SUV market with the Avatr 11. By 2030, Avatr aims to enter over 110 countries and regions, with overseas sales projected to account for more than 50% of its total volume.
