Chinese bestseller Geely EX2 launched in Australia at 18,360 USD

The Chinese best-selling car, the Geely EX2 electric hatchback, launched in Australia at 26,490 AUD (18,360 USD). The entry-level model offers 252 km of WLTP range, a large 14.6-inch touchscreen, and a 70-liter frunk with remote release.

The Geely EX2 sells as the Geome Xingyuan in China. Last year, it became the local bestseller with deliveries of 465,775 units, according to China EV DataTraker. Moreover, this urban driver retained the sales champion title in H1 2026, selling 194,159 units. Recently, the updated Xingyuan entered the domestic market with a slightly sliced price. The Xinyuan also sells in some markets under the Geely E2 name. On July 14, this model finally entered the Australian market.

The Geely EX2 is available for purchase in Australia with two trim levels: Complete and Inspire. The entry-level car costs 26,490 AUD (18,360 USD). It offers a single electric motor in the rear axle with a peak power output of 60 kW (80 hp). It is paired with a 35.35 kWh battery pack for 252 km of WLTP range. The battery could be charged with 60 kW DC. This cute hatchback speeds up to 100 km/h in 14.2 seconds. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 130 km/h.

The Geely EX2 Complete rides on 16-inch steel wheels. It adopts LED headlights and an active grille shutter. It comes standard with seven airbags, a rear-view camera, active cruise control, and a large 14.6-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other highlights include power front seats, climate control, and four speakers. The EX2 Complete’s cabin adopts only the Horizon Grey shade.

The top-trim Geely EX2 Inspire offers a more powerful 85 kW (114 hp), cutting the zero-to-hundred acceleration time to 11.5 seconds. This trim level adopts a larger 47.14 LFP battery pack for 345 km of WLTP range. It supports 80 kW DC charging.

Other highlights of the Geely EX2 Inspire include alloy wheels, a power tailgate, decorative metallic accents, rain-sensing wipers, a surround-view camera with a transparent chassis, heated front seats & a steering wheel, sun visors with illumination, 256-color ambient lighting, a wireless phone charging pad, and six speakers. Its interior could be finished in two tones: Horizon Grey and Skyline White. The on-road price of the EX2 Inspire is 30,990 AUD (21,480 USD).

It is worth noting that the Geely EX2 is available for purchase in Australia with six body color options: Moon White, Nebula Beige, Star Silver, Aurora Green, Nova Pink, and Comet Gray. However, all of these shades (excluding Moon White) are available only as a paid option, priced at 600 AUD (416 USD).

The Geely EX2 could be purchased in Australia with a limited-time offer, which includes a free EV home charger, free premium paint upgrade, and a 0.68% PA comparison rate. Its core rivals in Australia are the GAC Aion UT, the BYD Atto 1 (Seagull / Dolphin Surf / Dolphin Mini), and the MG4.
