FAW’s Hongqi Tiangong 07 opens pre-sales in China: 800 V architecture, starting from 25,000 USD

On September 21, FAW‘s Hongqi officially opened pre-sales for its latest mid-to-large pure electric sedan, the Tiangong 07. The vehicle is available in three trim levels, with a pre-sale price range of 189,900–219,900 yuan (27,900–32,300 USD). For a limited time, customers can take advantage of special promotional pricing ranging from 169,900–199,900 yuan (25,000–29,300 USD).

Design and dimensionsThe Tiangong 07 features a closed front grille and the Hongqi emblem. The side profile features sleek rooflines, hidden door handles, and dual five-spoke wheels. At the rear, there is a continuous taillight assembly and a subtle “ducktail”. The vehicle measures 5000mm in length, 1915mm in width, and 1490mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm.

InteriorInside, the Tiangong 07 features a wraparound cockpit design. The cabin is equipped with an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, powered by a Qualcomm 8397 chip and the Lingxi Cockpit 6.0 system, which supports Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and ICCOA Carlink.

The front passenger seat offers 16-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. When fully reclined, the seat extends to 1617mm, transforming into a 1.6-meter single bed. The interior also boasts an 18-speaker Bose audio system with 7.1.4 panoramic sound and a 1.87㎡ panoramic sunroof.

Autonomous drivingFor intelligent driving, the vehicle is equipped with a 384-line dynamic zoom LiDAR and the Hongqi Sinan Intelligent Driving 5.0 system. This enables features including highway and urban pilot assistance, full-scene automated parking, cross-floor memory parking, and end-to-end autonomous manoeuvring.

Performance and rangeBuilt on an 800V high-voltage platform with SiC electric drive technology, the Tiangong 07 offers both single-motor and dual-motor configurations:

• Single-motor: Maximum power of 340kW (456hp), peak torque of 450 N · m, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.6–5.8 seconds.

• Dual-motor: Maximum power of 190kW (255hp) + 340kW (456hp), peak torque of 770 N · m, achieving 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds.

The vehicle is powered by the “Xuanjia” battery pack, with 75 kWh or 85 kWh LFP batteries produced by FAW’s Lishen Battery, providing a maximum CLTC range of up to 730 km (591 km WLTP). The 800V architecture allows for rapid charging, with a 10% to 80% charge time of 12 minutes or less.

Lishen was once one of China’s major state-owned battery manufacturers, and in 2025, it was acquired by FAW. This July, it also launched ultra-fast charging technology capable of charging a battery to 70% within four minutes.
