Volkswagen launches ID. Unyx 09 with 5C fast charging in China, starting from 26,800 USD

On October 24, 2026, Volkswagen Anhui officially launched its new mid-to-large-sized electric sedan, the ID. Unyx 09. The vehicle is available in three configurations, priced from 179,900 yuan (26,800 USD) to 249,900 yuan (37,300 USD). Featuring a fastback coupe design, the ID. Unyx 09 offers both single-motor and dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain options, with a maximum CLTC-rated range of 755 km (~612 km WLTP).

Design and dimensions

The ID. Unyx 09’s front fascia features a closed grille, slim headlights, and the iconic Volkswagen logo. High-tech lighting features include DLP high-definition matrix projection headlights and crystal laser-engraved interactive LED units, which can project lane-guidance light carpets and vehicle-width markers to enhance nighttime safety.

The vehicle measures 5081 mm in length, 1980 mm in width, and 1509 mm (or 1526 mm depending on configuration) in height, with a wheelbase of 3030 mm. The side profile emphasises a dynamic, forward-leaning stance, complemented by 21-inch sport wheels and Brembo brake callipers.

Interior and technology

Inside, the cabin’s key features include:

• A two-spoke multi-function steering wheel.

• A dedicated instrument screen and a square floating central touchscreen powered by an AI assistant.

• An 85-inch AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display).

• A centre console equipped with wireless charging and hidden cup holders.

The vehicle is powered by the VLA large-model intelligent driving assistance system, supporting advanced features such as custom parking, remote parking, and trace-back reversing.

The ID. Unyx 09 is equipped with a 91.963 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack from CATL and supports 5C fast charging technology. It also features a dual-chamber air suspension system from Vibracoustic.
