CATL and DHL collaborate on scalable charging and battery-swapping solutions for European logistics
CATL and DHL Group have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen their strategic cooperation, aiming to accelerate the electrification and decarbonization of road freight transportation across Europe.
According to CATL, this new framework focuses on creating a repeatable methodology for freight electrification. The partnership intends to move beyond isolated pilot projects by fostering an open ecosystem that integrates logistics demand with advanced energy solutions.
A collaborative ecosystem for sustainable logistics
The initiative seeks to leverage the combined expertise of both companies to address the complexities of transitioning to low-emission logistics. Key areas of cooperation include:

Scaling zero-emission freight
Akin Li, Executive President of CATL Overseas Business, emphasised that successful freight electrification requires a holistic approach: “By combining real logistics demand with vehicles, charging, energy storage, battery swapping and lifecycle services, CATL plans to work with DHL and other ecosystem partners to create practical and scalable solutions for zero-emission freight.”
For DHL Group, the partnership is a critical step toward its corporate goal of achieving net-zero logistics-related emissions by 2050. Through this initiative, DHL aims to further integrate sustainable freight solutions into its European operations.
