Next-gen BYD Han listed with 520 kW AWD and 270 km/h top speed

Next-gen BYD Han listed with 520 kW AWD and 270 km/h top speed

BYD’s next-generation Han sedan has appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) homologation records with three battery-electric vehicle (BEV) configurations and one plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

The electric lineup comprises two rear-wheel-drive versions rated at 245 kW and 300 kW, plus an all-wheel-drive version with 520 kW of combined motor output and a top speed of 270 km/h. The PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 200 kW electric motor.

The sedan was spotted undergoing road tests in China in September, with spy shots showing camouflage and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit. Earlier reports speculated that it could sit below the Han L, but the homologated dimensions place the new model above the Han L in length and wheelbase.

Dimensions place the Han between Han L and Da Han

The new Han measures 5,156 mm long and 1,969 mm wide, with a 3,030 mm wheelbase. Height varies by configuration: 1,492 mm or 1,507 mm.

Model Length Width Height Wheelbase
First-generation Han 4,995 mm 1,910 mm 1,495 mm 2,920 mm
Han L 5,050 mm 1,960 mm 1,505 mm 2,970 mm
Next-generation Han 5,156 mm 1,969 mm 1,492 / 1,507 mm 3,030 mm
Da Han 5,256 mm 1,999 mm 1,510 mm 3,130 mm

The new Han is 106 mm longer than the Han L and has a 60 mm longer wheelbase. The Da Han is 100 mm longer and has a 100 mm longer wheelbase than the new model.

Three battery-electric powertrains

The rear-wheel-drive BYD7000CEBEV2 uses a 245 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor, equivalent to approximately 329 hp. It weighs 2,005 kg and reaches 240 km/h. Roof-mounted LiDAR is optional.

The BYD7000CEBEV3 raises motor output to 300 kW (about 402 hp). It weighs 2,125 kg and reaches 240 km/h. Its listed heights are 1,492 mm and 1,507 mm. No LiDAR-delete option is listed.

The all-wheel-drive BYD7000CEBEV1 combines a 200 kW front AC asynchronous motor with a 320 kW rear permanent-magnet synchronous motor. Together, they produce a rated output of 520 kW, equivalent to about 697 hp. The vehicle weighs 2,351 kg and reaches 270 km/h.

All three BEVs use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade batteries supplied by BYD subsidiary FinDreams Battery.

PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre engine with a 200 kW motor

The BYD7150CE6HEV1 PHEV uses a 1,498 cc turbocharged petrol engine coded BYD472ZQB. The engine produces 115 kW of maximum power and 110 kW of net power, equivalent to about 148 hp. Its electric motor is rated at 200 kW (about 268 hp).

The PHEV weighs 2,115 kg and reaches 200 km/h. A version without roof-mounted LiDAR is available. The engine and motor figures are separate component ratings; the records do not specify combined system power.

Braking, EDR and production details

All four configurations list Bosch Integrated Power Brake (IPB) equipment and event data recorders (EDRs). The records identify BYD assembly locations in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, and Changzhou, Jiangsu province, but do not assign each configuration to a specific plant.

The filling records do not list battery capacity, CLTC driving range, retail pricing or showroom launch dates.
