You can option the Tremor on more Super Duty pickups, while Platinum is added to Chassis Cabs.
While it might be a large truck to use in off-road situations, it seems owners of Ford Super Duty pickups want more capability to drive on those less-traveled roads. Ford announced during Work Truck Week 2026 that it will expand the Tremor package to even more Super Duty pickups while also adding a 35-inch tire package to the XL trim. For those who want a comfortable working environment inside their Chassis Cab trucks, the Platinum trim will now be available to add some luxury along with its own cargo box solution.
While the idea of a Platinum trim on a Chassis Cab might sound a bit strange, there might be some logic to it. Luxury overlanders and campers on larger truck platforms continue to be a popular niche with customers. That’s why Ford’s offering a Chassis Cab that comes with leather seating surfaces and Sync 4 built in might be a smart play. Will we see a box truck built on an F-350 Platinum or a heavy-duty wrecker on an F-550 Platinum? Probably not. But the boss or owner of a construction or commercial contracting company will be able to build the truck of their dreams.
For those who don’t mind a more basic work truck, Ford will offer a new XL Off-Road 35-inch tire package. However, this package is more than a larger tire being added to a base Super Duty pickup. To boot, it also includes a factory ride-height increase, a limited-slip front differential, an electric locking rear diff, performance shocks, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, Rock Crawl Mode, and a full-size 35-inch spare tire. You also get all of that without the decals you typically see on an off-road package, making it perfect for those who need to add their company branding to a better-performing roughneck work truck.
Finally, the Tremor package will be available for more Ford Super Duty trucks as it expands into the Crew Cab Long Box (the eight-foot bed, 176-inch wheelbase pickup), as well as the XL with STX Appearance Package. Both options include everything usually found on the Tremor, such as 35-inch tires, a factory lift kit, an electronic-locking rear diff, skidplates, Trail Control, and Rock Crawl Mode. The Crew Cab Long Box will also get the 48-gallon fuel tank option and will be the largest fuel tank available on any Super Duty truck.
While you might wonder why Ford would offer nearly the same package on the same trim, remember that the XL Off-Road 35-inch Tire pack does not include graphics and is focused mainly on work trucks. The XL Tremor is intended for owners who want a large truck with off-road capabilities for cheaper.
Additional details, specifications, and pricing on the 2027 Ford Super Duty are coming this spring. That’s also when order books will open and you’ll be able to put down your money on a Tremor XL or Platinum Chassis Cab truck.
